Soul Position : Things Go Better with RJ and Al
Soul Position are Ohio natives RJD2 and MC Blueprint. Their debut full length album '8 Million Stories' in 2003 served notice to the underground hip hop world of their combined abilities. Both have been doing mountains of side projects and solo work since then but they've finally hooked up in the studio again to make 'Things Go Better with RJ & AL' and the results are smashing. The album takes aim fair and square at the plastic MCs and phony producers that riddle the hip hop industry these days.

Various Artists: Grimey (Vol. 1)
Review by Kodama - InnaRiddim.com It's hard to ignore the slew of grime inspired music coming from not only the UK, but all around the world right now. Since the seemingly overnight explosion of Dizzee Rascal's debut 'Boy In Da Corner' a few years ago, there has been a constant supply of artists putting forward their own spin on the sound,

Koolism : New Old Ground (Part 4)
In case you thought Koolism winning an ARIA award in 2004 was a fluke, think again. 'Part 4 - New Old Ground' keeps the Koolism formula bubbling nicely. Relevant lyrics discussing themes and subjects we all go through with cuts and beats that are both hardcore yet still head noddingly friendly, the latest offering from these two Canberrians is nothing short of wicked!

The Perceptionists: Black Dialogue
The Perceptionists are Mr.Lif, Akrobatics and DJ Fakts One. They have all been around in various solo guises since 1997 but this album release, Black Dialogue, is their first as a trio. Far from being a boardroom invention, these 3 mates have been appearing on each others singles and releases since '97. Whilst all have individual styles, their music doesn't talk to one set of people nor does it come at you the same way twice. Unpretencious, angry, pensive, hilarious, contemplative, deep - 'Black Dialogue' is all of these.

Recloose: Hiatus on the Horizon
The latest album from the Detroit born but New Zeland based artist known as Recloose was proceeded with a promo line of 'genre-bending soul fuelled' music. That usualy makes us groan with discontent here at 2,3,BREAK! After the first few tracks we were almost resigning this album to the same fate as others who have that tag-line i.e the bin. But then came along track 5 and the penny dropped. They were right!
